Da Vinci’s House

Welcome in Le Clos Lucé, dedicated to the knowledge and inventions of the Renaissance genius.

This residential manor from the XVth century was given to Leonardo Da Vinci by Francis I.

This is where the artist spent the last 3 years of his life before dying there on May, 2nd from 1519.

Inside the manor, you will discover the Leonardo's daily life and 40 wonderful machines, futurist inventions, imagined by the scientist and now rebuilt thanks to small size models constructed from original drawings. Examples include war machines, plane and an airscrew which was the beginning of the helicopter

The visit continues in the landscaped garden where Leonardo and his disciple are waiting for you for an introductory walk.
